Bergamo. Its mountains.

Within
a few kilometres the hills of ancient Bergamo turn into mountains
and then tops,
snow-clad most of the year.
The landscape is much varied, from the dark and rough massif of the
Presolana mountains to the white Dolomitic cliffs of Val di Scalve,
to the myriad of big and small mountain lakes, to the gentle
ondulating pastures of the valley bottom.
Touristic destination for summer walks and Alpine sports like
mountain.bike, parapendio, freeclimbing, hang-gliding, birdwatching.
The mountains of Bergamo offer (to the lovers of walks) ”the
path of the Orobie”, with its refugees at high altitudes on
the highest tops or by the side of suggestive Alpine lakes and, in
winter, in places like Foppolo, Castione della Presolana and
Schilpario, ski-resorts where you can venture upon slopes,
bottom-ski and ski-touring.
