|
About
7 km away from Bergamo, shut in by the Orobie Alps,
Valle Brembana, with its intact landscape, its
enchanting natural views, the small side-valleys of
Olmo, Taleggio, Brembilla and Serina, and the
characteristic Alpine villages, gives a good reception
for relaxing and amusing holidays.
Sports
people have several options: ski, excursions to the
mountains, gliding, fishing, cycling and flight-shooting.
This valley, the native place of Arlecchino, the famous
mask-character of the Italian Comedy, is well-known also
for its dairy products: “formai de mut” (“mountain-cheese),
Branzi and stracchino Taleggio. |
Visit
Valle Brembana
The
road climbing up the valley follows the lay-out of the
ancient Priula road and offers a varied charming
landscape: mountains, woods, rocks, ravines, rivers up
to the pastures and snowfields of the high valley.
Apart from well-known tourist resorts like Serina,
Foppolo,
Carona,
Piazzatorre and
Branzi, where you can
have a short stay, you have to add some historical
suburbs of peculiar charm: San Pellegrino with its
renowned thermal baths, Camerata Cornello with its
beautiful arcades recalling the past and San Giovanni
Bianco, a wonderful little village full of monuments,
history and traditions, surely the pearl of this valley.
