Bergamo’s sports tradition – whose strong point is Atalanta, Bergamo’s football team founded in 1907 – numbers worldwide famous champions like Giacomo Agostini, Felice Gimondi, Beppe Signori, Fabio Mai, Paola and Lara Magoni, Emanuele Merisi, Emiliano Brembilla and prestigious contests like Trofeo Parravicini of ski touring which has taken place in Valle Brembana since 1936, and Gran Fondo Felice Gimondi which draws to Bergamo hundreds of enthusiasts.
